ok.. Silly question (i've checked my other MSU1 games....) :

We need to rename the rom "Mario's Amazing Adventure Revitalized" and not
"Mario's Amazing Adventure Revitalized (MSU-1)" , right ??

what is meant with "headered" ?
smc, not sfc? where or how do i get this?
can or shall i do this myself, with a certain program
or do i just ask "google"?

Header is the intro lead-in of the rom, with SNES these are the 200 bytes in hex or 512 in dec at the beginning before the actual rom data begins. Since Fusoya was (for some unknown reason) a header person, he made all of his tools require this otherwise useless info, which is a leftover from the copier machines which indeed scanned the original cart into the PC file. All Super Mario SNES hacks and tools are made for a headered rom (rom with the header), so it should have 513 instead of 512 KB, since SMW is a half megabyte game.

SMC of SFC is irrelevant if the code is the same. Where do you get a headered rom - on the internet, can not ask or link to it. If you get any SMW rom, and it doesn't have a header, just add one using a hex editor or tush or any other utility. It should already have it by default.

The author of the patch made sure you use a 513KB original SMW rom (thus with header), as opposed to 512KB original SMW rom (thus with No header), since in the latter version the patch will not work. Same if you use original roms of other regions, like Eu or Japan, instead of US, as said in the post above.

Usually we also post a CRC-32, ie an id of the original rom, since indeed you can in theory have an US headered rom, which is different from what the author made the patch from.

all files that i find have a size of 524.288 byte

I applied latest msu.asm dated 2021-01-24 to v1.3 Revitalized, it seems track layout has changed.

524,288 will be displayed as 512 KB in explorer, ie 80,000 in hex, ie half a megabyte,
524,800 will be displayed as 513 KB in explorer, ie 80,200 in hex, ie half a megabyte with header,
524.200 is an invalid size for SMW and no SMW rom should have this.

As you can see there is a 512 byte difference, thus 524,800 is headered and 524,288 is unheadered, you need the first to patch to. If you have 524,288, then just add 512 bytes with value 00 infront of the rom with a hex editor (to get 524,800) and then patch.

ouch.. now it starts getting complicated...
i will postpone the "problem/project"
but i am happy that i asked
because this way i have a proper explanation
which i can consult as soon as i return to this task Very Happy

I Plan on paching and finishing all of the msu1 hacks to make a complete msu1 set, with all currently available games
For SNES, Some of the MD games (because of Wily Wars) and as a bonus i will add a little Mesen, because of Zelda)..
